Season 5: Background to this season
The Siege of Bursa took place from 1317 to April 6, 1326, before which a few more battles took place between the Byzantine-Ottoman Maze, the Battle of Dimbos, for the Yenisei, dated 1303, and the resulting Ottoman victory, which you can see in Kurulus Osman 5. After this, Osman marched his troops north to wa* rds the river Sakarya, soon after the victory of Kulucchaisa. Arriving there, he raided and conquered the fortresses of Gonik and Yenis Tarakli.

Arriving there, Osman received a message from his Byzantine friend Kase Mihal, wa rning him of a secret conspiracy being prepared by the Tekfurs of Bilesek and Yarish. Both aimed to kill Osman by inviting their children to attend the wedding. A short battle ensued in which Osman was victorious and most of the Byzantines died. Tekfur’s daughter Halfira also caught up in the act, soon becoming Osman’s daughter-in-law, later marrying his son Orhan and changing her name to Nilfar Hatun. Osman and some of his men then besieged the fort and easily captured all the towns and villages around Inegul.

Season 4: Background to this season
In Constantinople, one of the heirs to the Byzantine throne, Kantakouzenos, plots to assassinate Emperor Andronikos and tries to become emperor. However, Osman learns of this plan through his spies in the city and saves Andronikos’ life. Angered by this failure, Kantakuzenos with his ally Olof (a Byzantine general of Viking origin) Octem Bay (Bay of the Kargin tribe) attacked the settlement. Meanwhile, Alcişek and Aktemur (son of Gunduz, nephew of Osman and Subasi of Yenisehir) fall in love.
Osman Marmara conquered Hissar (present day Marmaraki). Concerned by Osman’s growing influence, Ismihan Sultan (mother of Seljuk Sultan Alauddin Kayqubad III) arrived in Yenisehir, allied with the Byzantines and Mongols to overthrow Osman. At this point, Osman also sentenced the Mongol commander Samagar to death. This enrages Samgar’s superior commander, Neiman, who also comes to eliminate Osman.
Neiman allies with Ismihan, Olof, and later Valens (Berser Tekfur) to overthrow Osman, but Osman inflicts heavy losses on him and kills Olof. Oktem Bey was martyred in the ensuing skirmish. He became Aktaimur, the Bey of the Kargin tribe. Osman Ilkhan complained of Sultan Alauddin’s cruelty to Ghazan, leading to Alauddin’s dethronement and the reinstatement of Masud as Sultan. Osman Kopruhisar wins. Neiman was executed by Osman.
Victory of Osman Koyunhisar: The Battle of Bafias, or Battle of Koyunhisar, was fought on 27 July 1302 between the Ottoman army under Osman I and the Byzantine army sent by the emperor under George Mouzalan on the coast of Yalakova and the edge of Bafias. The w*ar ended in a major victory for the Ottoman Empire. Osman declared his kingdom an independent one and began taxing Byzantine caravans passing through his territory.
